Hawaii Babies

Leaving on a Jet Plane....

Let's hope the babe at least tolerates the 3 flights, totaling 17 hours of airplane travel, that will get us home to visit the fam in Hawaii!

We finally booked our tickets...we'll be leaving India on Jan 14 and arriving in Honolulu on Jan 15 - after layovers in Singapore and Tokyo.

I've got a list a mile long for what I "need" to bring on the flight and in our suitcases and I'm already feeling the pressure to start packing! Thankfully, we won't have the stroller to lug around.  I'm going to keep K in the Ergo as we go through airports.  Hopefully, the other airports will be as easy to get through as the ones here in India are (they let me wear him through security in the Ergo here - actually, airport security here is pretty lame, but at least we don't have to take off our shoes or remove our belts).

We'll have family time in Hawaii (Honolulu and Hilo) until March 10, when we'll head back to India.  I'm soooo looking forward to getting home and eating all the local foods I miss - hello spam musubi!  hello loco moco!  hello kalua pig and lomi salmon! :)

  • Whoohoo!! Yay for going back to Hawaii =) Wow, security sounds especially accommodating for traveling with babies, esp if you don't even have to remove your shoes! I had to take B out of the Ergo when we traveled with him a couple of weeks ago but at least neither one of us had to go through the scanners or get the pat-down, so I was pretty happy about that...hope the flight goes smoothly and yay again for booking your trip!

  • Woo hoo! It'll be here before you know it! Sounds like you have a good plan...when I've traveled I've always worn Libby in the Ergo. Last month though, they made me take her out and put the carrier through the xray machine. Anyway, it was a bit of a hassle, but we made it work. Good luck to you...will it just be you and the LO or is your hubby going too?
  • Thanks ladies! :)

Yes, good travel vibes are a must!!!
Thankfully, the hubby is also coming along, so I'll have some help as we traverse through 3 airports.  :)

    Wishing you all a great 2011! :)

  • wow, that sounds like a looooong trip, but so worth it!
  • Woohoo for such a long vacation---have fun!! I wanna go back to Hawaii again :)

I've traveled with M 3 times and I had to take him out of the Ergo all 3 times...but it wasn't a hassle at all. The only thing is bringing all the baby stuff...stroller, car seat, etc...i hate packing and ALWAYS overpack :) Actually, I should start packing now for our trip to the grand cayman next week...hate packing.

  • wow how exciting! i've found that the younger they are, the better they travel :) sending you lots of good traveling w/baby vibes! make sure you pack a change of clothes in case of a mishap (for both of you!)
  • sounds like you'll have a nice long visit to Hawaii, so exciting!  sending tons of good travel vibes! Smile
