  I got mine stripped at 38 weeks 5 days. The doctor said it's just a more aggressive internal. It was very uncomfortable when she performed it and unfortunately nothing happened for me. I was only about 1.5 cm dilated, but I go back tomorrow and she said she will do it again. Good luck!

  yep twice- once last week (39) and today (40w1d).  The first time I lost my mucus plug within the first couple of days after having a lot of cramping.  This time I am hoping it gets labor started- she was much more aggresive this time   I guess it can work-but everyone is different. 

  After 4 years of unexplained infertility, IF treatments and 3 losses we have our miracle baby!

  everyone is different, but I had mine stripped 4x with my first, and they brought on lots of cramping and contractions.. but all of which faded and resulted in nothing. I ended up being induced.
  
  apparently they can be more successful with 2+ baby so I'm hoping to have mine stripped on thursday and see if we can get things going.

  I got this done today too so I'm waiting to see what happens. I really haven't had much cramping though, just some BH. Trying not to get my hopes up...

  If there's no progression at this week's exam, I may opt for it. Not sure yet. DH wants me to have this baby as much as I do; but he's against me having my membranes stripped. If I don't go for it this week and I still haven't had LO by next week, I am SO having it done.

  I had it done at my 40 week appointment last Wednesday, I've been losing my mucous plug ever since and having mild contractions, but that's all it did for me. I was 2 cm, 80% effaced. If I haven't gone into active labor by my next appointment on Friday, I will have it done again. If it does come to that, hopefully it will work before my induction scheduled for the 10th. 

   One of my closest friends did have it done at her 41 weeks appointment and was in active labor about 12 hours later.
