Poke or score roast, rub liquid smoke into crevices, put in slow cooker. Add at a couple of inches of water at the bottom of slow cooker so it doesn't dry out or burn. Turn setting on low for 6-8 hours until you can pull apart with forks. (I usually do this overnight). Shred and add salt to taste. Voila!

Great basic recipie. I generally cook mine in a slow cooker for 12-14 hours and when it is done I shread it with the juices that are left over from cooking it. This allieviates the need for extra salt and it makes it very moist. If you can get Hawaiian sea salt I would recomend using it.

This is my recipe too. I also second the red Hawaiian sea salt, most grocery stores sell it now and it's fantastic.
Thanks Ladies! I will try it! Do you eat it on Hawaiian Sweet Rolls, rice, ??
When I make it for dinner I will usually make rice, cabbage and sometimes Hawaiian sweet rolls.
Last summer we made little Kailua pork sliders and they were amazing. I cut Hawaiian sweet rolls in half, put a scoop of the Kailua pork on it, a scoop of coleslaw and topped it off with the other half of the roll to form a little sandwich they got great reviews at our BBQ.
