Thoughts on Susanna (Suzie)

Just wanted to get your thoughts on the name Susanna (nickname Suzie)? Would you consider it outdated? What spelling would you use?

I love Susanna (or Susannah), but am not wild about Suzie. Susanna was on our short list, but with nn Nan or no nn.

Love it spelled as you have it and nn. I'm a Suzanne and have always loved the variations of the nns and the name itself. Older friends and family call me Suzie or Sue and newer friends career-wise call me by my full name. Great choice.

I like Susanna a lot and I adore Susie (I prefer this spelling). Susan nn Susie was on our list for DD. I would definitely consider it for #2 if I didn't think the sibset Betsy and Susie was a bit much.

I love the name Susanna, especially with that second S. I'd probably spell the nickname Susie, but really, whatever you want works. I don't think it dounds dated at all. Classic and beautiful. I will warn you though, that the nickname might not end up happening -- we were sure what we wanted our daughter's nickname to be and it hasn't happened yet.

Susannah is my sister's name and I've always loved it. I (and my siblings) call her Susie pretty frequently, but she goes by Susannah to most people. I prefer the spelling with the "h"

This name has grown on me a lot, though I think I prefer the spelling Susannah. I think Susie is okay as nn, but I'd probably just call her by the full name or Anna.

I absolutely adore Susanna (spelled this way). Suzie/Susie is super cute! Susanna is an underused classic that is gorgeous! It sounds bad with our last name so it's not on my list.

We almost named DD Susana (family name w/ Spanish spelling) but we were both so against the NN Sue/Susie that we made it her middle name. DD's first name is becoming so popular I sometimes wish we'd stuck with Susana. I love it!

My name is Suzanne and I like the variation.

When I was young (until HS), I was known as Suzie. In HS, I began to be known as Sue and college friends also used Sue. Work and everyone after my first tour of college knows me as Suzanne. In fact, you can tell how long someone has known me by what name is used.

Susanna can be too much of a name for a little girl, so the option of Suzie is a good one. (One friend who has known me a very long time calls me Sooz now)

I like this name a lot, though for some reason I prefer the spelling Susannah. Susie or Sue are great nn. We are actually considering Susan for our baby girl.
