Flying w/ Toddler Aerobed?

We will be travelling this month and bringing our Toddler Aerobed for DS to sleep in (staying at a hotel and at a friend's house). Has anyone brought this along with them on the plane? It is not huge, but it is pretty bulky -- should I just try to stuff it in a big suitcase or would I somehow be allowed to put it in a separate bag and gate-check it? We'll also be gate-checking our stroller. Thanks for any advice!
