I'll be keeping track via the wonders of Microsoft Excel and will post next week after the weigh-in with percentage weight lost for the week, in order from most to least, declaring a "Biggest Loser" for the week.  The winner will get a nifty icon to put in their siggy (that I have yet to create, just got my computer back afterall)

  • 30 Day Shred, more water, and keeping a food journal, I think.  And I'll start off slow this week. . . we have family in town and no real opportunity for workouts, so I'll deal with Jillian NEXT week.

  • This time I'm keeping a food diary.  I'm writing down what I eat, approximate calorie counts and my general musings at the time.  I have a real problem with mindless and emotional eating so hopefully this will help curb that!

  • DH was recently diagnosed with type 2 diabetes.  Since he eliminated sugar from his diet, he's lost 60 pounds in 5 months so far.  He has another 100 to lose.

    I'm joining him.  I don't have diabetes (yet) but it just makes sense.  So, no more cookies, cake, candy, soda, or caramel macciato's for me, at least not unless they make them sugar-free.  It's going to be a lifestyle change, forever.  DH is on this for the rest of his life, and he's mine for that time - so this is forever.

  • I'm so glad you took the reigns on this Kathy. I'm sure that alone will be good motivation!

    What am I doing differently? Well, I'm back to WW (which I did one other time) and I'm logging in every single thing I eat. I never realized how many tiny nibbles and bites and such that I take during the day, while cooking, feeding LO, etc... I want to be accountable for everything that goes into my tummy - and on my thighs!

  • My DH and I go out to dinner a LOT, so that's the main thing we are trying to change this year.  It's sooo easy to over eat when we're out, there's always wine and dessertStick out tongue  I am also going to seriously work on portion control.

  • Can I play?  I need to get rid of this baby weight and then some.  We got P90X for Christmas and DH has already started.  I did the first day and then came down with bronchitis, boo, but hope to get going again tonight.  I see that working out together makes me a lot more accountable.  My other pitfall is the food at work.  I need to not be dipping into the candy jar!

  • I'm going to log all of my foods, including drinks (I tend to not log my drinks...) plus do at least 30 minutes of exercise four days a week.  Also I'm going to not bake for the next 30 days!  I love to bake but I also love to eat it, so I've got to stop doing that.

    I'm going to replace soda with water.

    And ygpm in just a few.

  • I love this idea.  I'm hoping my competitive side will kick my own butt :)

    I started today with Day 1 of the Couch25k plan.  Sucked.  I also plan to work on a new eating goal every week.  This week, my goal is to drink more water.  I will drink a glass of water before I put anything in my mouth - including my morning coffee and my evening tea (both of which I take with creamer and sugar).

  • Thanks for doing this Kathy. And also, thanks for not posting our weights. I hate sharing mine but only having to share it with one person makes me feel better at least.

    This time, I'm focusing on DS. I know I need to do it for me, but I really need to do it for him. I'd do anything for him - anything - so I need to focus on that. I'm also turning 30 this year and using that to help fuel my fire. I am sick of being so fat. But as for other things, I'm keeping a diary of what I ate and also exercising. I used to run so I'm trying to get back to that.

    Is this going to be a daily check-in?

  • Cutting out all sweets and sodas for starters.  I'm not going to exercise much more than walking, because Z and I are having a bit of troubles BF the last few days.  I'm afraid to do anything to drop my supply any more than it has.

  • Well this is the heaviest Ive ever been too. Ive never really had to diet before... I think I dieted for 1 month to loose 5 lbs before my wedding LOL. SO, with that being said, I started to C25K program this morning. I'll also start WW next week probably. I need to borrow a few WW books from my MIL before I get started on that.

    3-4 walks a week & yoga 3 times a week 

    Also cutting unhealthy foods & late night snacks
    Increase water intake

  • Ooh... I'd like to play. I've gained tons since DD1 & am currently at my heaviest. I'm going to do P90x again but this time DH is doing it with me so I'm hoping his support will keep me motivated. ETA: I will PM you later. I can't send PMs from my phone.
  • DH and I are doing WW together, so hopefully he won't sabotage me and I won't sabotage him. Before it's either been me on a diet or DH on a diet.  Also, I joined a Stroller Strides class. I took the first one today and Ro loved being in the stroller and I liked being with other moms rather than just the DVD at home.  Oh and it was a killer workout. I am going to be hurting tomorrow.

  • QOTW:  Just joined sparkpeople.com and trying it out.  I am going to eliminate needless calories that I can live without like brown sugar in my morning oatmeal and drinking my coffee black (no cream).  I will share my dessert with my DH so we each get half instead of whole and not eat dessert too frequent. Also drink 8 cups of water each day.

    The biggest goal is making healthy choices long term, not just for the sake of losing but also maintain my weight loss.   I am still searching for a fitness plan... I want something I don't mind doing for a long time.  I don't want to do any quick programs but something I will enjoy in the long run.

  • DH has gotten into running big time, so I thought I would give it a shot and do the Couch to 5k.  Headed to the gym tonight as it is too cold here to run outside.  At least my running shoes are cute, that is a plus, right?? :)

  • I'm doing Weight Watchers again. Nothing really different except the plan has changed since I last did it. I lost 20 lbs before then got pregnant so I obviously stopped dieting.  Hoping to lose 10-15 lbs this time!

  • Hmm...I guess the thing I am doing differently is not starving myself. I'm still part-time bf so I can't completely cut down on the calories. I'm doing WW but I took my extra 12 points for bfing. We'll see if it works!
  • I need to run upstairs and weigh myself after this feeding, and then I will pm you. Dang it...I should've done the starting weight check BEFORE the feeding! Wink
     
    I am planning on snacking less (or at least choosing healthier snacks, which will hopefully be easier now that the holidays are over!) and exercising more.  I don't have a lot to lose, but I really want to get back to my weight and tone up a LOT.  I am feeling the flab!

  • Low carb is what I'm doing differently. I stopped for the holidays but am going to pick it up again.
  • This time I'm a lot more motivated to lose the weight. I also am going to eat out less and cut out the junk food. I hopefully won't be working nights too, so that should help.

  • I am going back to what worked for me before. I needed to lose 30lbs to get pregnant with DS. I cut carbs and went to the gym. I joined my gym about a month ago and have been going 3 times a week. I put DS to bed then change and go to the gum at 8pm. Its late but its the only time I can go. I refuse to give up time with DS for this I am also trying to drink more water.
