Another wonderful experience at Walmart.

So my RE called me and told me that they wanted me to start taking progestrogne suppositories just to be on the safe side.

Anyways I go to walmart to pick up my prescription, and the girl behind the counter can not only not find my meds, she is yelling to the pharmacist. "Where did you put those Vaginal suppositories??"

So now I'm turning red, with the 4-5 people standing in line behind me..

So.. She finally gets the boxes and than tells me that I need the pharmacist to explain how to use these..

Umm no, I'm not going there with a 60 yr old grandpa looking man who needs to explain to me that I have to stick these up my ute. I explained to her this is not my first time using them and I'm ok.

So she yells back to the pharmacist, no need to explain the vaginal suppositories.. she has used them before.

OMG I could not get out of these fast enough.

You should have loudly asked her how her new herp meds were working out since the last time you were in...!!!

When I was at the library last week, the clerk behind the desk announced to the whole place that my copy of "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" was due. She then asked if I was going to need it for another 3 months and if she'd like me to renew it. Yes, I said. And thank you for informing the entire building that I have yet to take charge of my fertility, as I am still in need of my copy. Embarrassed

Oh my goodness, smallfry - that made me laugh out loud. I love your sense of humour.

It hadn't occurred to me to try the local library for this book - thanks. I have avoided buying any books so far as there are so many to choose from, and I don't want to end up with something that makes me cross. Looks like this one is recommended.

Oh ugh - I am so sorry you had to deal with that!

Your story reminded me of when the 60-year pharmacist at CVS had a really long and loud conversation with me about how I could take my prometrium orally but my doctor wanted me to take it VAGINALLY - I guess he hid his embarrassment about saying "vaginally" by saying it at a much louder volume. Awesome....

I know that had to be incredibly embarrassing, but I can't help but giggle when I read your post. I was just at WalMart and I was just imagining it happening to me. We do all sorts of embarrassing things to get our baby!

I don't think there could be a more worse-case scenario than the one you just described. Complete fail on the part of the pharma lady. I completely agree with pp, this was completely unprofessional. At our pharmacies, I've seen where they have a line at the pick-up and drop off lines that you cannot cross in order to protect the privacy of the person that is being waited on. You sure as hell shouldn't be shouting anything about a prescription across the pharmacy so all can hear. Ugh - I am so sorry!

Yup, write a "letter to the president." They have to deal with those or risk bad things happening. Wouldn't this fall under hippa? I spent an HOUR today waiting for my Clomid. It is blister packed, all they have to do is cut off the right amount and stick it in a bottle. Then she wanted to counsel me on it. FFS, this is the 5th month in a row, I think I can figure it out.

That's ridiculous! I would call and ask to speak to a manager! There are confidentiality laws for a reason! So sorry you had to put up with dumb people!
