I noticed on FB that a lot of my friends did christmas different. Some dressed formal, some dressed semi-formal, some dressed regular and some stayed in lounge wear.
We get dressed regular style about 1PM. Before that we are mostly in our jams. The typical wear is jeans and maybe a nice sweater. I kind of like the idea of a more formal setting at least for dinner. Maybe next year.
Re: What is your family dresscode for the holidays?
We dress up for my in-law's Christmas party (a week or two before Christmas) as well as Christmas Eve with my extended family; the girls and I wore dresses, and DH wore a dress shirt and pants.
Christmas day ends up being more low-key. We wore pajamas at home on Christmas morning, then we wore jeans and sweaters but kept the girls in their jammies for Christmas afternoon at my parents' house, and then we got them in dresses for Christmas dinner at his parents' house. (DH balked that I had dresses for the girls since Christmas day is usually so casual, but I had already bought the dresses so you better believe the girls were going to wear them! Those dresses were the most casual of their holiday dresses anyway.)
This is us too. Jeans usually with a dressy top.
