I'm at work today...I would rather be home. Logan cried when I left so I'm trying to take my mind off of that. Crying

If you had a separate smash cake photo session what did your LO wear?

Are you thinking of hiring a photographer or just taking your own pictures? To me, "photo session" means a professional thing. Just wondering.

But really, don't get your expectations up about some big monumental smashing of the cake. Often, it doesn't happen the way you think it will and I'd hate for you to be disappointed!! Unless Logan is a confirmed food smasher already!

FWIW, Charlie took one look at the cake, poked it with one fingertip and then poked it with a baby fork and that was it. WOULD. NOT. TOUCH. IT! But I wasn't surprised, really, since he hates anything sticky on his hands.

DH is going to talk to a photographer friend that he works with and see if he would do this. If not we have another friend who take photos as a hobby. She took some family pics for us during the summer. If neither of those work out we will probably do the pics ourselves.

We will have a couple of "test runs" to see how Logan reacts. The boy does love some food so I think if he sees a yummy cupcake piled with icing he will go to town. LOL.

I looked a some pics online. Even the ones where the baby wasnt that into it were still cute. I had never even heard of a smash cake until I saw someone mention it on here.

i wanted sabrina to actually wear something (a lot of the cake smash photos i've seen have the babies in just a diaper) so i picked up a $4 long sleeve onsies (dec bday) and $4 fabric spray paint from hobby lobby and made a 1 stencil out of cardboard. there's a pic in my blog and on facebook. if she were a boy, i woulda just kept her in a diaper with a 1st bday hat.

I had N in a "1st B-day" onesie that I picked up on clearance at some baby store and a bib over that. Not knowing how his reaction would be, I wasn't going to get my hopes up. But I guess that after he tried eating the candle, the cake couldn't have tasted any worse! LOL

Will he leave a hat on his head? Mine would never have let a hat stay on for more than 1 millisecond.

I think the simple diaper cover would be adorable with a smash cake.

I honestly have no idea. I will probably order it anyway, just because I think it's so darn cute.
