So - when did you purchase your furniture - how far along were you?
Thoughts about Babies R Us, Buy Buy Baby and JCPenney?
Buy Buy Baby seems more expensive but you can use the 20% off coupons on the furniture and the quality seems pretty good.
Any other stores/shops in the Metro Detroit area?
Thanks!!

There's also House of Bedrooms Kids on Telegraph north of Square Lake road and south of M-59, They have nice sets there.
I got mine at Penneys and love it!!!
We ordered ours from Buy Buy Baby. It is Westwood, which Baby Bargains rated as an A. It is a really nice set and I can't wait to get it in the room! We ordered it when I was around 15 weeks in case it took 3 months to get in (which was the case with my cousin). Luckily, it is all in stock, so it is whenever we want it delivered.
We were going to get the Baby Italia set from BRU, but we did the math on what the pieces we wanted from Buy Buy Baby and what we would need to buy with the Black Friday sale from BRU and the pricing was the same with the 20% off coupons. Also, the staff at Buy Buy Baby was so helpful. I could never find anyone to help me at BRU.
If you do plan to get a set at Buy Buy Baby, they have to be current coupons. One time I was there, the sales associate told me it could be BBB or Buy Buy Baby current coupons, so we went to purchase everything with a mix. However, when the woman was writing our order up, she said it could only be Buy Buy Baby, not BBB. I got super annoyed and she said, you can just collect the coupons and we will price adjust as you get current Buy Buy Baby ones. Well, when we checked out, the cashier just scanned all of them so we got the discount that day...thank god. Other than that, their service has been outstanding.
My parents bought the crib from BRU, and we didn't have any issues, we bought the glider at BRU, and the weld was busted on the chair and it was such a hassle to return it and get a new one ordered. The customer service is good unless there is an issue. But they finally made it right and gave me a gift card with $40 on it for the trouble.
We went for adult furniture, since I didn't like that a shorty like me could dust the top of the chest from the set we liked at BBB. So we ordered furniture from Art Van or some place like that.
Everything was ordered around 20 weeks, and didn't take long to get in.
I was never a Penney's shopper until I got pregnant and now they've hooked me! We originally found a crib we like at BRU but Baby Bargains gave it a D. We found a similar, A rated crib at Penneys. They have sales frequently and offer ship-to-store also. I looked at a ton of reviews before I ordered and saw lots of raves about the customer service.
We bought our dresser at Ikea. Baby dressers are so frickin expensive!
