and I'm about to FREAK OUT!! I have a lactation consultant appointment in 2 hours.. how am I supposed to concentrate on breastfeeding Becky when Evelyn's going to want to run all over the place???? Plus I need to find some nursing tanks... apparently walmart & BRU don't carry them!
Re: My first day alone with 2 LOs....
How old is Evelyn?
IMO (one who used nursing tanks/bras), go get yourself a nursing shawl and they make these covers that connect to your nursing bra.
This way when your in public, you don't feel so exposed. I didn't have a shawl or the covers and BF lasted only 2 months in part due to frustration of not being able to nurse in public without feeling uncovered...no one told me about these items.
I found my nursing bras in Motherhood Maternity.
Evelyn's 14 months.
My nursing bra is pissing me off, which is why I want the tank... I'm tired of my boobs falling out all the time! LOL!
I would say, bring some snacks to occupy her.
Can you bring a friend/family member with you so you can focus your attention on the conversation with the LC?
I have experience with two LOs that are 14 mo apart. I always bring snacks, a toy that is not loud, and the stroller. I strap the toddler in ther stroller and keep up a constant stream of snacks. That has worked so far.
Are you sure Walmart doesn't have them? I just recently saw some at my local Walmart.
ETA: You will do great. It will be ok. It takes a couple of days to get into a routine, but it eventually works out. I am alone 14+ hours a day with my LOs with no family within 7 hours to help me. You can do it! You would be surprised how much you can really handle.
Nope, I'm completely on my own today... aside from the girls, of course! Mom's at work, and dad took DH to work with him... ugh! I hope dad gets better soon so DH can find his OWN work!!!!!
And we don't have target's here
Apparently our walmarts suck... they didn't even know what I was talking about when I asked someone who worked in the department if they carried them... they just said "we have nursing bras..." I don't want to spend $25+ on a bra that I may not be happy with...
And the stroller and snacks thing is probably how it's gonna have to work... oooh, this is gonna be fun
Boo @ no Targets! I didn't look at your location before I posted.
As far as 2 under 2... Been there done that. My older kids are now 22, 21, 20, and 17. I agree with PP: snacks, stroller, and several toys. If your LO has lovies (paci or blankie) I'd bring those too.
Most importantly, take a deep breath and stay calm. Your LO will pick up any stress from you and run with it.
Good luck... I'm sure it will be fine!
Don't worry, you'll do it! Let her play with her favorite things and she will be fine.
Target has the best nursing tanks.
GL to you. And congratulations!
