What does your DH do for a hobby? What do you do together as a family? How often does DH spend time on said hobby? I need some good role models for my DH!
Dh is a gamer but he has other hobbies. He likes tabletop games. Like Dungeons and Dragons, Risk etc. and he likes to make his own board games. (Makes rules, a board to play, pieces etc) He also puts together and paints models as well as plays the trumpet.
Hmm, I can't see supporting beer drinking and ESPN lol and I don't see DH taking up the trumpet, D&D or golf. Keep it coming though ladies! These are great!
My DH use to be a SCUBA diver... until his lung collapsed and he can no longer dive. This happened the first year we were married- but when we were dating during dive season he would probably spend 12-15hrs a week and not much during the off season.
Porn is apparently another of my husband's hobbies.
Or trying to get laid.
ROFL.....My DH also attempts to get me in the mood. He hasn't succeeded in 2 months lol. I am sure when DD and I do leave the house and he isn't playing WoW he probably goes to youporn.com
DH bow hunts, just started too, but so far it's taken up quite a few of my days off that I would have liked to spend with him. Can't complain though, he gets to take LO to work with him/work from home most days so he deserves the break, and I don't have to share LO! Also, HAM radio has become a hobby. We have a lot of outdoor hobbies too: mtn. biking, hiking, fishing, wake boarding, snow boarding and DH really likes working out, we have a bit of a home gym. (I need to take after DH and start to like working out too...)
nothing... he works and sleeps... and he's off every other week when he follows me around whining about how I should spend more time with him... I wish he had a hobby...
My husband works/shops for cars...he loveess to work on cars. sooo thats what he does-even in the winter! And what do we do as a family for fun....hm....relax...play with LO-go to babies r us...haha!
My DH likes to kayak and fish on the weekends, he also has a band and plays guitar. If he's not doing either of those activities, he's making learning-based computer games for school (he's a high-school teacher). He does play games on the PS3 a little, but I'm not a gaming widow, usually.
DF buys and rebuilds gas powered remote control cars when he has spare money. He usually likes to take on projects in the house but rarely finishes them or they end up costing a fortune .....or is on a mission to get laid lol.

Oh yeah, forgot about that never-ending mission to get laid. LOL DHs are all alike
I feel like DH is always busy --- he goes to grad school (not really a hobby but takes up a lot of time), plays golf, coaches soccer, goes to concerts with friends. he also has PS3 but isn't obsessed with it - he'll play maybe once a week.

Does making fun of me count as a hobby? If so, that's my H's. He's also a neat freak, so he spends quite a bit of time cleaning. He also likes to go to the gym, so in his small amount of free time, he does that too.

My DH does play some video games (basically just NCAA Football on the XBox) but we also have a Wii. I was the one interested in the Wii, so I have lots of games that we can play together. We also like board games. DH is a great cook, but he works full-time (about 60 hours a week) AND is in grad school, so he's not around much to play with that hobby. He's also really into wine and scotch/whisky, but in a nerdy-wannabe-sommelier kind of way not a just-out-to-get-drunk kind of way!
He's obsessed with sci-fi movie props. He has filled up the basement with Star Wars, Star Trek, and superhero memorabilia. This is all him - I'm not involved in this hobby of his at all. Before DD, this took up a lot of his time (e.g., he used to spend practically all weekend in the basement), but he's really cut back since she was born.

My husband loves to hunt down old guitars and amps (usually on craigslist), buy them for a cheap price, and refurbish them. He claims they're LO's college fund. Whatever. As long as it doesn't cost TOO much money and it makes him happy, then I'm fine with it. The funny part is, he isn't a great guitar player - he just likes to work on them. He's a strange bird!
He also loves telescopes and astronomy. If there's some satellite flying over or something he always makes me go out and look at it. I don't really find it that interesting, but it's endearing how excited he gets about it so I pretend to care.
I know I'm late to the thread, but DH hunts in the fall, and snowmobiles in the winter. He mostly BBQ's and drinks beer in the summer, lol. NBA season is huge for him (Lakers fan), and that obsession is already rubbing off on the kids.
He also likes to build and construct things in his garage. He comes up with random ideas and goes out to build them. Unfortunately, it doesn't always translate into fixing things around the house. He likes to play with his tools on his own terms. I once told him I was going to sell all his tools so I could afford to pay a handyman to fix everything in the house It is the middle of winter right now and our garage isn't heated, so he doesn't get to work in the garage that often.
My DH is kinda like some of yours... he likes to play with his wood. All day he would play with wood if I let him. LOL, he thinks he's Bob Villas long lost son!! If I gave him a $100 GC to Home Depot or Lowe's he would buy wood to make something... or something to make a wooden something with. He doesn't like sports (or I should say watching them), or partying, or gaming... just let him loose in the garage for a couple days and he's happy as a pig in poop! But... he is also on the eternal quest to get laid so I'm sure there is def some porn going on after I go to bed at night. So see, he does like to play with his wood
Dh is a cyclist. It becomes an issue at times because he'll want to go for 4-5 hours bike rides each week and all of his bike stuff is really expensive.

my DH is a "serial hobbyist" - he finds a hobby, is really gung ho about it for a year or so, and then goes on to something new. some of his hobbies:
RC planes ammo reloading astronomy gun collecting target/clay pigeon shooting collecting toy tractor models refurbishing his old tractor collecting/reading about/drinking scotch soccer (watching, reading about, a fantasy league, etc.) food (loves food network and reading food books - doesn't cook as much as i'd like, tho!) house renovation puttering around outside (he likes to mow the lawn more than he'll ever admit) searching for the end of the internet/researching any of the above topics (he does this a lot)
things we do together:
traveling and planning trips camping/hiking/outdoorsy stuff trying new restaurants shopping play wii games cooking (sometimes!)
some of these thing he does more than others, but if you're looking for ideas, my dh has probably tried it!

Oh my goodness - it's absurd! My H competes in triathlons, so he is currently building his own tri bike. He has been really good about not spending money, but in order to get more competitive he has to upgrade.
OP, my H is very very active, so I don't think my response would very helpful. He swims or bikes almost every day. He is constantly preparing for some race or meet. When he is not working out, he is reading magazines about the sports or researching on the internet.
Trucks and everything truck related. He'll go out and take something apart just so he can put it back together again. We're members of an off road club, so we do that together, and it's very family friendly.
On the plus side, I never need a mechanic for anything. My engine blew last year, and he completely rebuilt it.
Golfing, riding horses and 4 wheelers, and lake trips in the warmer months and TV the rest of the time. We watch lots of tv together. I would go insane if my DH was in the video games. I despise them for some reason!
DH and I both play softball. If he's on the field, I'm keeping book. If I'm on the field, he's coaching or keeping book. Plus we play together too. In the off season we plan the next season (we coach a coed team together). We also both run fantasy football teams/leagues (which I won this year TYVM!). We also golf together and workout together. There's some TV watching in there too and of course, tons of play time with DD!
Needless to say, one of my New Year's Resolutions is to get some me time. I love the guy and all, but I need some time to just do my thing!
He works out. His work schedule is somewhat flexible, so three days a week he gets up around 6 a.m. and goes to the gym before work. He does that b/c working out in the evening meant that he hardly saw the girls before they went to bed.
He sometimes goes to the gym on the weekends as well.
Family time -- we go out running errands together, play with the girls, etc. This weekend we went out for lunch as a family. If the weather's nice, he takes DD1 for a walk or to the park. Or we go to the local rec center pool together or something.
I got him a PS3 for Christmas and he bought one (single player) game. He plays in the evenings for a couple of hours after the girls go to bed, unless we decide to watch a movie or TV together.

Surfs internet message boards re: cell phones.

Cooking? and some moderate video game playing (maybe 1-2 times a week for 1-2 hours)?
Neither DH nor I have much free time so we usually spend it together as a family. Or we will sit on the couch and watch a movie or tv or sports.

We are on vacation right now but if we were home this is what DH would also be doing.
