Radian owners-RF Installation help

We purchased the Radian XTSL for DD and hubby and I have had such a time trying to install it!!!  We are trying to install it rear facing in the center seat of my 2010 Acura MDX.  It doesn't appear to work because part of the base is hitting something metal under the seat.  For now I have it behind the passenger seat but this isn't going to work long term because it leaves barely any room for a passenger to fit.  Has anyone had any luck with this?  I am debating what to do....get another seat or forward face her (which I really don't think I want to do) or leave as is and always have to have passengers sit in the back.  Thanks for listening to my rant.

    You may want to post on the parenting board, there are several Radian owners on that board as well.  I have a Radian, but didn't have problems with installation.  I know that alot of people do though.

    Thanks.  I will try that.  I posted on the car-seat.org website so hopefully I can get it figured out.  At this point, I am almost ready to go and buy another seat to try it RF and just use the Radian when I am ready to face it forward.  The install has caused lots of frustration today :)  The pics of people toting them happily on the shoulder and clicking it to install in a minute just seem impossible to me right now.
