Hey ladies! So tomorrow I go in for CD3 baseline u/s & b/w and will be switching to injectables this cycle. My RE has already mentioned starting with Gonal F. If you took it what was your experience with it?? My RE is also very, um, conservative when it comes to treatment but is also very open to discussing different options. With all my failed Femara cycles (I've done the highest dosage of Femara twice) the concerns have always been the same: poor lining, cysts and low LH surge. What should I ask we do/change for this next cycle? We have to do at least 3 IUIs with injects before our insurance will cover the meds/monitoring for IVF (we're OOP for the actual procedure) so I'd really love for one of theses cycles to work!
TIA!
Re: What would you ask?
Ive never done an IUI, but i want to wish u luck!!!!!!!
I used Follistim, basically the same, for my IVF. I had no problems...the pen was really easy to use. Just a bit of a burn going in. I was too lazy to let it warn up.
I was always on Follistim for my IUIs but will be starting Gonal-F for IVF tonight. I never had any s/e or anything from Follistim and, from what I've heard, Gonal-F is very similar. Clomid was a lot worse for me.
I guess I'd just ask how many follies they are shooting for...if they'll put you on anything else along with the Gonal-F (Menopur, Ganirelix, progesterone)...how many follies would warrant canceling the cycle...if they have any plans to put you on anything for your lining in case it doesn't increase...
GL! Honestly, I've found inject IUI cycles to be very easy...hope you have the same experience!
TI, IUIs, IVF = c/ps and BFNs
Good luck! I've done 2 Gonal-F cycles and the pen is really easy to use. Prime it first! I found the video on this site (under the "Instructions for Use" tab) helpful.
Also I did experience headaches with the injections. Make sure you're staying hydrated!

Gonal-F and Follistim are the same. I've used both for IUI cycles. No major problems, and I seemed to stim very well. I did have a cycle or two where I had a cysts and we had to stop and go on BC for a cycle to dissolve them. However, overall I've had a good experience with these drugs. No crazy side effects and the shots are very easy to give a virtually painless.
PS My doc is very conservative as well.
Good luck, gonal f works really well for me too. Not sure what you would need to ask, I'm sure they will walk through everything you need to know. Good luck!

PAIF/SAIF always welcome
I had the same issues on clomid - poor lining, low LH surge (E2 never getting as high as it should). For my IVF cycle I used follistim and it helped both of those issues for me. My E2 never got as high as my RE would have liked to see, but it didn't drop out of nowhere which it normally did.
GL!!
