I tried two so far and they are giving me reactions? Can you please help me with some good prenatal names to discuss with my OB. please thanks.

What kind of reactions are you talking about? I buy whatever is the cheapest. I've used Walgreen's, One-A-Day and the Target brand.

I've been using Spring Valley prenatals with no side effects. I got them from Wal-Mart.

Yes my OB prescribed them. But i will go tomorrow to the pharmacy because i didn't know you can get them over the counter..thanks

With my first pregnancy I used Trader Joe's prenatal vitamins. I had a really bad allergic reaction. My Dr. told me that I didn't even need to be taking one and just to eat healthy. She said we are the only country that uses them. So, don't get too caught up in it if it's making you react.

What kind of side effects are you having?

If they are making you feel sick to your stomach, try taking them at night with a full glass of water. If they are making you constipated they may have too much iron (you may be getting enough iron in your diet). Also, I know some people that break their PNV's in 1/2 and take them at different times to lessen some of the side effects. Good Luck.

They are important to take... Plus, they make your skin, nails, and hair better

Wow. I am sure your experience trumps the advice of the American Pregnancy Association. Perhaps you would also like to add that it is ok if the OP wants to smoke or do crack durring her pregnancy because you know someone who did both and still had a healthy child. Indifferent

I take the target brand pnvs. They're small, not stinky, and have never caused an upset stomach for me. & Another plus is they are 100 pills for around 4 bucks.

Just like a few of the other posters I take the Target Prenatal vitamins. I was taking the Women's One a Day prenatal vitamins plus DHA, however it was expensive and I got horrible fish burps from the DHA gel caps *yech*. I still take DHA but I get it from Trader Joe's, it's an odorless one so no more of those fish burps. I think you said you got a bad reaction from the Trader Joe's prenatal vitamins? Maybe it's their mixture? IDK... I hope you find one that your body is happy with.

In comparison to what--the 3rd world countries where a lot of babies die before/soon after birth? They're important, especially since most women WON'T eat perfectly healthy. Your dr. is a moron.
