Parenting after 35

More comfy here than preg 35 +, so...

I'm feeling some anxiety about *not* being miserable in the first trimester.  Yeah, weird.  I've never had strong symptoms in any of my pregnancies, so it's not like it's new, but I'll feel better after my next appointment when I'll know the current status.  I know I'm not saying a whole lot here, it's not news, exactly, I'm just a bit strung out from keeping the pregnancy secret from my entire family this trip and not having anyone to vent to.

So yeah, I am nervous and next week can't come fast enough.  Too bad my next appointment on the 5th is for my CVS and not with my regular doctor, but at least I'll get an update!

  • Anxiety sucks!!

Left Hug I'm sorry you're feeling uneasy. I'll keep the T & P heading your way, and wishing you all the sticky dust in the world.

    xoxo

  • Vent away, Amy. It must really suck being so stressed and keeping it all to yourself.

And good luck with the CVS!

  • I couldn't keep it secret for even 5 minutes this last time. It's hard not knowing what's going on in there, I have all appendages crossed for the 5th.

  • Two more weeks and you will be Second Tri, a much safer place to be.  We are here with you.

  • It's even better that appt is for CVS: they will have more info right away b/c of their U/S. Plus, if you have already given blood for your 1st tri screening, they can combine the results with what they see on the U/S and alredy calculate the risk factors for major trisomies. If they don't then ask them to do this before they take your sample for CVS.  My combined results were excellent but I still went for CVS. Make sure you stay in bed for 2 days after this (hope you have someone to take care of your LO). Lots of luck!!!

Btw we didn't tell anyone until we got the CVS results back at 12 or 13 weeks.

  • Please feel free to vent!!  We all know how hard those first few weeks, especially when it is still a secret.
