it must have slipped off his finger when he was taking off one of 50 million pairs of gloves (since it didn't show up in anyone's food - although i was secretly wishing it had-horrible, i know)
he stayed late to go through the trash can to look for it and is so upset. He has never taken it off - not even for a minute since the minute i slipped it on his finger - but he lost 20lbs this summer and hadn't noticed it was getting loose.
What can I do? Do I call the Jeweler that we purchased it from and see if they still sell the same style? Do they keep records for 6 years?

Re: Dh is so upset - he lost his wedding ring....
If you want the same style, start with the jeweler and see what they can do. They might have to do a little research, but they should still have purchase records and an item reference number for the ring. There is no guarantee that the ring will still be in production however. If you have a decent close-up photo of the ring then a good jeweler should be able to custom design a duplicate. It's going to be really expensive though.
You could always get him a new and "upgraded" one. DH did that for me when I lost my engagement ring a few years ago.
Dh lost his ring a few months back and he was devestated. To make matters worse, the ring was really expensive (platinum) because we were in a better financial place when we got married. He had to settle for a cheaper ring this time around, similar style. GL!
