I'm having a hard time getting variety into LO's diet now that he's eating mostly table foods. He typically rejects purees at this point because he wants to feed himself.
So does anyone want to participate in a daily menu thread for the kiddies? IE Post what you fed them for breakfast, lunch, dinner (or what you plan to feed them).
Maybe it will help us generate ideas?
Re: daily menu for LO thread?
Sassy you're so smart.
Today Simon had a piece of raisin toast and oranges for breakfast.
For lunch I'm thinking chicken nuggets and sweet potato fries.
Not sure about dinner yet. We made pulled pork the other night, but it's pretty spicy.
What a good idea.
Yesterday DD had a banana and pancakes for breakfast. Mandarin oranges, leftover spaghetti (but with penne noodles) and some baby goldfish for lunch. And for dinner she had green beans, and some shredded chicken with rice and black beans. that was the first time she had beans, though and she was pretty gassy last night and this morning. She normally gets what everyone else is eating (when appropriate) and a fruit/veggie or both along with the main dish.
I guess I am bad. I don't restrict much of the spicy food from DS. I think he should have flavor and not be so bland
I grew up in a bland food house
E had just some millet puffs since we went to church way too early. But typically its fruits and veggies and last night for dinner he had black bean soup. Other nights he'll have butternut squash which he loves or sweet potato fry's
I think this is a great idea.
For Breakfast DD had 2 mini cinnimon apple waffles, 1/2 a banana. And some oatmeal with banana orange medley puree mixed in.
For lunch she will have a cheese quesadilla and a side of broccoli.
For Dinner she will have salmon with some peaches and yellow squash.
I like it...
for breakfast DS had a: 1/2 a waffle, a scrambled egg with cheese and yoguyrt
for lunch he had: "grilled cheese" (I cheat and put cheese on bread and put it in the toaster) 1/2 banana, peas, and cheese puffs
dinner he usually still eats a puree of some sort of mix/veggie mix because he goes to bed before us, I sometimes remember to give him some left overs if we have any, but it doesn't usually happen. He will also get a veggie, probably peas tonight since thats whats in the fridge, pineapple and yogurt with a veggie mixed in.

Yay I'm getting ideas already!
So far for breakfast he had cheerios and sliced pear.
For lunch we'll do banana, some brocolli and some leftover penne from a couple days ago.
Dinner is shredded pot roast, cooked carrots and potatos (from the pot roast).
For breakfast today she had yogurt mixed with applesauce and cinnamon - she still is fine with some spoon feeding. If we do finger foods she'll have a half a banana and a blueberry whole wheat waffle.
Lunch was large curd cottage cheese and peas, and a few pieces of oranges. Yesterday she had steamed carrots mixed with hummus that I made.
Snack is usually some kind of fruit and cheerios or graham crackers (I have the Annie's Cinnamon Graham Bunnies, I break them in half)
Dinner the other day was spaghetti and frozen blueberries, which she LOVED. I used to warm them up but she likes them better frozen apparently.
DD still eats a combo of purees and finger foods. I'm planning to transition completely off of jarred food over the next few weeks.
Breakfast was a jar of cinnamon, raisin, granola, about 1/2 of a banana and half a sippy of drinkable YoBaby yogurt.
Snack: a tea biscuit and a 4 oz bottle
Lunch: a jar of sweet potatoes, some cut up Perdue short cuts chicken strips, some cut up watermelon and a sippy of very watered down juice.
Snack: Gerber crunchies and a 6 oz bottle.
Dinner will be a jar of chicken and veggies, some soft cooked elbows pasta and a sippy of watered down juice or vitamin water.
Bedtime will be a 6 oz bottle,
This is a good idea, and I'll participate when I'm around.
For breakfast, we had homemade waffles.
We're just nursing for lunch, maybe a few puffs for snacks.
Dinner, DH is trying out his new smoker, so he made brisket and pork, so DS will get a little meat, rice or potatoes, and maybe a pickle or fruit.
Last night, he had acorn squash and pickles.
breakfast: waffle w/grape jelly and 1/2 a banana
lunch: veggie burger patty w/ apples and cheese
dinner: he'll be having mac and cheese w/pears and broccoli
DH and I don't eat a lot of meat so by default neither does DS. I was having one for lunch one day and he scarfed nearly the whole thing down. I think they're one of his favorite foods. I make my own at home pretty often, but I also love giving him the morningstar farms ones. SO easy to pop in the microwave!
Breakfast: cheerios, banana and some oatmeal
Lunch: squash and spinach, zuchini
Dinner: grilled potato and a chicken apple sausage.
DD loves veggie patties, too! The refrigerated veggie patties from Costco are one of her favorite things to eat. I'm thrilled because (like you said) they're easy, and good for her!
Sure!
Breakfast: tomato & cheese omelet with a banana (only ate about 1/2)
snack: slice of bologna torn up and about 10 blackberries (ate all)
Lunch: boiled egg, slice of bologna (ate about 1/2)
snack: 5 animal crackers, bottle w/ DanActive and a little milk
Dinner: Beef stew chunks, yesterdays fresh herb bread, 10 blackberries
Breakfast: peaches, yogurt, oatmeal
Lunch: rice, tofu, butternut squash
Dinner: rice noodle/chicken/veggie stir fry(cut up into bits)
Breakfast: Yogurt and cheerios
Lunch: Cheese sandwich (on pita bread)
Dinner: I am not sure yet.
Yesterday, DD had:
Breakfast: Banana Bread french toast with bananas
Lunch: Chicken & cottage cheese
Dinner: Pasta with Veggies
this is a great idea!

Today:
Breakfast: a piece of whole wheat french toast and some kiwi
Lunch: 1/2 a grilled cheese on whole wheat and broccoli

Dinner: 1/2 grilled cheese on whole wheat with broccoli and peas.
Today she had a scrambled egg and cheerios for breakfast
Lunch was strawberries and mango because she didn't have fruit with breakfast
Dinner will be some roasted chicken and whatever veggies I cook.
Snacks are usually cheerios or fruit.Today:
Breakfast: a piece of whole wheat french toast and some kiwi
Lunch: 1/2 a grilled cheese on whole wheat and broccoli
