First time mom

Two weeks ago I had my 2nd BFP. So far I have had a total of 3, 2 HPTs and one in a clinic. We haven't seen a doctor yet because we currently have no insurance (and unemployed at the moment). I'm applying for Medicaid and WIC, so hopefully I can see a doctor then. 

Since we haven't had a u/s, we don't know the due date, but the online calculators are saying mid August, so that's what we are going with for now.

My husband and I are excited and scared. This will be our first child. Very unexpected since I was on the pill until I got the BFP. I'm looking forward to this pregnancy and having our first child, and getting to know people on this board.

    Welcome to the board! What a surprise for you! :) I know that if you medicaid won't cover you, a lot of hospitals will cut down prices for you. Or you can go through a midwife which is cheaper. Hope that helps!

    Welcome :) It was a big surprise for us as well so I completely understand! 

    I've slowly warmed up more and more to the idea but definately am still about 50% excited and 50% terrified! LoL

     I think as the pregnancy gets further and further along it will become more and more exciting as you get used to the idea.

    Wow, you sound exactly like me! I'm also a first time mom who got pregnant on the pill and is uninsured (husband's unemployed; my job doesn't offer insurance.) Oh, and I'm due mid to late August. Excited and scared is exactly it - I love this baby ridiculously much, but am wondering how everything is going to turn out... It will though, for both of us! (That's what I keep telling myself anyway.) :)

    Good luck with the Medicaid/WIC - they should rush your application since you're pregnant. I'm also waiting for them to approve me so I can go to a 'real' doctor. Walk-in clinics and pregnancy centers just aren't cutting it - I need my u/s! :)

    I want my u/s too! I tried calling around for the free/cheap u/s but they don't give them for "peace of mind". Grrr. Only if you think something is wrong. How can I know if something is wrong if I don't know that it is all ok first?

    For us, I'm the unemployed one while my husband works at a mall job. The pay sucks, but the manager is our friend and the paychecks help.

    It's a scary ride! But it is wonderful!

    Congratulations!

    Two under 1 was fun! With Three under 3, I was pleased! But Four under 5 I may not survive... so please say a prayer for me.
