So Libby's nickname is "busy bee" and we want to do a bee theme for her first birthday. I wanted to stay away from black+white+yellow that I've seen for most parties with this theme. I did find a girlie invite, but the turn around time on it won't work for me. So I set out to do my own. Here's what I've designed:
And these coordinating "party circles" that'll be used to decorate cupcakes, party favors, etc.:
The last circle, with the letter, has inspired my design for a bunting banner that say's "Happy First Birthday Libby" basically with each triangle a variation of that circle's design (different background color/design with each letter in a coordinating color and the star adjusted to coordinate too). Over all, I happy with this...but I guess I am wondering if this is too masculine? I didn't think so, but then I showed it to some family and they said it looked like more boy than girl. What do you ladies think? I plan to incorporate some polka dotted balloons into the decor:
And I want to use this felt table runner on the tables:
And probably yellow with white polka dotted plates.

Love the color scheme. I think it's far more girly than boy, perhaps gender neutral, but it totally works for a girl.
It's adorable!
