My Mom and I don't have a close relationship. Mainly because I think she's the most irritating person I know. But as an adult and especially as I've become a Mom I try really hard to be patient and just adopt a live and let live attitude with her.
We've been facebook "friends" for a long time but I guess she's recently just started using it more frequently. And now every time we talk on the phone or see each other (she lives just a few minutes away) she mentions something I've put on my status. I think you'd have to know way more of our background to understand why, but suffice it to say this irritates the sh!t out of me. Would you mention it to her or delete her as a friend? These are the only options I can think of. I've been trying to ignore how stupid she sounds, but we just got off the phone and in a 10 min conversation she quoted my last 2 status updates to me. It makes me want to scream!
Re: NBR: Mom and FB need advice
I don't think people over the age of 45 understand FB. My mom can be the same way... she is on FB only to see photos I post of LO and to keep up with her sister and brother... she doesn't understand statuses and I have tried to explain it to her, and she doesn't get it.
I would try to explain it to her and then when that doesn't work, block her like PP said.
i would post this as my status update:
"its so irritating when people quote my statuses to me on the phone - i know what it says - i wrote it". LOL
