Ultrasounds at Adefris & Toppin vs. Metro Ob/Gyn

I just made my first appointment at Adefris & Toppin.  I will see the nurse at 9 weeks and Dr. Crepeau at 10 weeks.  When do they do an ultrasound at this location?  Does anybody know if they have 3D ultrasounds here?

I originally made an appointment at Metro Ob/Gyn and I had an ultrasound scheduled for 8 weeks.  I'm currently torn which place to go.

Re: Ultrasounds at Adefris & Toppin vs. Metro Ob/Gyn

  • I don't know either clinics but I would call and ask the receptionist about the 3D ultrasounds. Just an FYI, the majority of women only have one ultrasound (20 week anatomy scan) throughout their entire pregnancies.

  • I don't know either clinic, but I agree I would call to ask. Most clinics don't off you the 3D scans and if they do its not until your 20 week scan since early pregnancy baby is small. I had an in the room u/s at my first appt around 9 weeks just to date the pregnancy since I was unsure because of early pregnancy bleeding I had. I had my 20 week scan and probably won't have another.

  • Are you asking if they do 3D ultrasounds? I've been going to Metro for  both my pregnancies and have never been offered a 3D, but then again I never asked. I do know they normally give you two ultrasounds one at 8 weeks and one at 20 weeks.

Yes, this is the exact information I was looking for on Metro Ob/Gyn.  Thanks!  Did they offer you the NT scan?

  • I went to Metro OB and  LOVED them.  Dr Mies.  There is more than a 3D ultrasound to consider.  You can always get them at a radiology office if you think you need one.

I had weekly US's (biophysicals) due to my GD, in the office.

I transferred to them at 20 weeks as I didn't like my previous providers.  They found my GD at 20 weeks and took excellent care of me. I felt well cared for, emotionally and physically.

They do a urine test with every office visit, which is why they found my GD so early.  I was feeling really crappy and that was the reason.  I shudder to think it wouldn't have been found for another 8 weeks if I had stayed at the other office, until my 28 week glucose test, UGH!

Yup, it's purely optional but we decided to do it.

  • I go to Metro OBGYN at the Maplewood location.  I had an ultrasound at 8 weeks which included a brief 3D look.  But honestly, at 8 weeks 3D didn't really look much different.  I also had the NT scan at 12 weeks where they also did some 3D imaging and that was amazing.  Our next ultrasound is scheduled for 20 weeks.

So far I love the care I've received at Metro OBGYN.  I see Dr. Les.  But I have been seeing him for 10  years for general GYN care as well.  The clinic is great.  Not the most updated place, but the nurses and doctors are awesome.  So is the ultrasound tech.  :)
