is his intake increasing?
For the last 2 days or so I have been feeling VERY full. LO seems to be nursing a little longer & going a bit longer between feeds. Am I just responding to his increased needs & producing more? I seem to have a faster let down and flow now too because he often comes on & off and also sputters & coughs with my let down. What should I do?
I will mention that he is 5 weeks 1 day old and I tend to have a larger milk supply.

He is most likely nursing longer because babies go through a growth spurt near 6 weeks, and your body is most likely having an over active let down which cause baby to choke, him coming off the nipple is the way he controls it so sounds like you are doing fine, your body is still adjusting to his needs and that may cause engorgement, you can gently massage your breast and use a warm washcloth on them to help sooth the pressure. IF you do pump only do enough to relieve the pressure, don't over pump because your body will just make more milk (unless you need some for work, then go ahead and save it)
