I don't have a bicournuate uterus, but my sister in law does. I believe she and her husband TTCed for a few months before conceiving each of their 2 kids, but she was able to carry them both to term.

I have one and it was discovered back in November. It does not look as severe as my doctor first thought, but she's doing an HSG to see. it was discovered during a hysterscopy but I has a saline sono prior and it was not as noticeable then. Anyway, she said it can cause trouble getting pregnant and carrying to term but many women have successful pregnancies--most don't even know they have one until well after they are pregnant.
We've been trying for quite some time, but I also have some other issues.
Not sure if this helps!
TTC #1 since 4/09
2/21/11: IVF #1 Begins and results in TWINS!
11/4/11: The twins are born at 36w4d!
11/5/11: We said goodbye to our sweet baby girl as she was born with multiple complications and a severe heart defect, Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome.
Thank you both for responding to my post I'm trying to get as much information about it before I start with my new doctor next week... Happy new year to you both and hope we all have bfp this year
I have one! Before I had an mri they were prepping me for the thought of surgery because they were 80% sure it was a septum - well, with an mri - SURPRISE!!! Bicornuate Uterus - my doctor thinks the only complications would be that I would have to deliver via c-sec and I may not carry full-term.

My friend has one and she had a loss the first time she got pregnant. However, she became pregnant quickly after that and she now has a one year old and is due any day. She got pregnant quickly all three times.
My mom, one of my older sisters and I all have bicornate utes. My mom was able to carry one child to term (no telling if all the rest of us were early from that or from other things). My sister had some complications and delivered early but not all of that was due to her uterus. I have a very slight bicornate uterus and my dr doesn't think it will present any problems.
How were you diagnosed? Ultrasound or hsg? Or some other test? I know mine looked a lot worse on the ultrasound than with the hsg. Good luck!
