How did you decorate the cupcake for Jack's bday? I'm debating on doing a big cupcake or a small round cake for Logan's bday, but I'm having trouble visualizing how a cupcake should be iced.
Thanks!

It was really pretty simple. I had a polka dot theme for Jack's birthday, so I just baked yellow cupcakes (from a box) made buttercream frosting and piped it on using a pastry bag and a Wilton 2D tip. I used multi colored sprinkles for the polka dot theme. When I say it was simple, I mean it. I know NOTHING about baking or cake decorating. I asked a local bakery how to frost them, and she showed me how to use the pastry bag, sold me the tip, even gave me her buttercream recipe. You can probably find pointers on youtube. I did d alot of searching there too. The ladies on the entertaining ideas board showed me a blog that had simple directions on how to make the cupcake tower out of cardboard, soupcans, cardstock, and a bit of ribbon. Here is the finished product.

We are doing Mickey Mouse. They actually make Mickey Mouse shaped sprinkles that would be really cute and I found a cake topper on Etsy that I really like.
I love the cupcake stand...very cute!

I ordered Jack's invites, thank you cards and favor tags from this etsy seller - StylishCelebrations. I went with the Bubblicious theme. She was really easy to work with and did a great job. Also, here is the cupcake tower tutorial from Annie'sEats. I can't wait to see the pics from Logan's birthday!

I had actually bookmarked that Etsy seller because she has a highchair sign that I love.

I need to contact her and see if she has a pic of the Mickey sign. I'm really excited. DH thinks I'm crazy...since it's still over 2 months away. lol
