Strange first period after D&C

Hi,

I had my D&C on December 1st, and bled for 10 days after it. Once the bleeding stopped it was gone for exactly 2 weeks, then on December 24th I got my period - I think. I had it for 3 days, it was a mix of new blood and brown, and then after 3 days it was over. Or so I thought. I didn't bleed on day 4, then on day 5 I bled briefly in the evening, day 6 nothing, day 7 brief bleeding. Today it's day 8, and so far no bleeding.

I called my doc and he thinks it's my first period after the D&C and that it's acting strangly because my body is still balancing itself out again.

Still, I'm used to super normal periods. They have been normal since I first got mine, and even after my first mc back in July my cycle went right back to normal.

Has anyone experienced something similar? I'm just so annoyed. Ready to go back to normal so we can TTC.

    I had that happen. I started bleeding two weeks after my miscarriage and called the dr. The nurse said it could be my period or residual bleeding. It ended up just being more bleeding and then I got my period about five weeks from the start of my miscarriage.

    I didn't think the first AF could come so quickly.  Now I'm questioning if I have in fact had one.  Hmm... guess I'll never know!  Hopefully a definitive AF will show up soon.

    I didn't think so either but I waited a month to miscarry naturally after we found out the heartbeat had stopped. I think that probably got my betas to 0 quicker but I still figured it was residual bleeding. It just never seemed heavy enough to be a period.

    I had a D&C, and I never got a BFP after that.  I waited a couple days to test and still expected betas to be too high, but it was already a BFN.  Now I'm really curious.  I never bled after leaving the hospital, and 2 weeks later had some light cramping and bleeding, basically like a light period.  I figured it was just residual bleeding, but now I'm not so sure.  Guess I should've called the Dr.  I think I'll just wait for a definitive cycle before TTC so that I have solid dates.  UGH!  Come on AF!
