help! 15 week twin boys, and one is still waking up every 2-3 hrs!

Hi Ladies,

My twin boys are 15 weeks old, and one started sleeping through the night (9-5) a couple of weeks ago, but one is still waking up every 2-3 hours. We can't figure out if he's hungry or just waking up. We have been giving him the binkie and holding him off til his brother eats, but it isn't helping him. We have tried feeding him more cereal, and that doesn't work. He tends to take longer naps during the day compared to his brother, but I don't know how to keep him awake. Should I try keeping him up longer during the day like his brother? How do I do that? Any suggestions would be great! TIA :)

  • Both of mine were still doing that at the same age.  They didn't STTN until 6 months.

  • My DD was STTN at 3 mo but DS didn't until more like 5.  I really think you just have to feed him...he's hungry!  Eventually, he'll get to where his brother is, but for now, that's what his body needs.  I was frustrated, too, because I just so wanted the extra sleep, but he WILL get there.
  • Both of mine still ate every 3 hours 24/7 at that point. They still each eat once during the night. They suck down 6 oz like they're starving, so I'm just riding it out. ;)
  • Hi, I'm having the same problem.  I have boy/girl twins.  My daughter can sleep a 6 hr stretch but her brother can only go 3-4 hours.  After he wakes up the first time he eats every two hrs.  We feed them 5 oz. of formula.  Just started adding cereal to their bottles at night.  Not sure if its helping or not.  So many people keep telling me they should be sleeping through the night.  I feel like we're not even close.
