So, how many of you are hoping to have an orgasm during birth.
(Laughing my a$$ off)
Re: Orgasmic Birth?
Hmmmm orgasm vs pain? I'll take the big O.
It's not as uncommon as you'd think.
There is some info about it in the Bradley childbirth book https://www.amazon.ca/Natural-Childbirth-Bradley-Way-Revised/dp/0452276594/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1293890275&sr=8-1...
Basically what happens is that there is a "feeling" that is really intense, that most women describe as "pain" since there is not anything else to put to words, but don't really describe it in a way that seems like it hurts. I think "climactic" might fit better than orgasmic as a descriptor.
Note that I have not yet experienced childbirth... but that is what I have read on the subject...
Haha seriously
I saw this show too. I was one that it was hard to look away but you really wanted to kinda thing.
Crazy!
I read about in in Ina May's Guide to Natural Childbirth.
I always kind of got the feeling that women made birth out to be more painful than it really had to be - like they freaked themselves out mentally enough into it being more painful than it had to be. I think it's a mental thing and yeah it will hurt but athlete's will tell you pain isn't all that bad and it's all how you handle it. Maybe these women just don't fear pain so they don't create it for themselves?
I kind of agree. I gave birth with no drugs by accident (epi didn't work and there was not time to fix it) and it hurt like hell, definitely the worst pain I have ever felt in my life, but when the baby came out and all the pain instantly stopped it was amazing. Not orgasmic by any stretch but I am looking forward to trying with no drugs this time.
