So DD has been using her magic sleepsuit since she was 4 months. I am thinking of starting to wean her from it and just going to a sleepsack. Just wondering if anyone has done this and if so, how long did it take for them to sleep fine without it? Also, did you transition to a sleepsack or do you just put them in the crib with a blanket? I'm kind of paranoid of putting a blanket in the crib and so that is why I want to put her in a sleepsack but if I do this, will I also have to wean from the sleepsack afterwards?

Re: Weaning from magic sleepsuit?
I'm a bit scared too! Well glad to see we'll be doing this together! lol Let's hope we both have a good experience with it!
I didn't use the sleepsuit but I did swaddle arms out until LO was 5 1/2 months old. I transitioned him to a sleepssack and used that for a couple of weeks. Then I transititioned him to just a blanket. The blanket I use is a knitted blanket with lots of holes in it. LO sleeps great.

OP- he's currently down for his 1st nap in the sleep sack. It was no big deal getting him down but I'm not sure how long he'll stay that way. He usually sleeps an hour+ so we'll see.....
Thanks! I tried to get him to smile, but every time he smiled he tilted his head back and the hat fell off. Oh well...

I wish that would have been the case with DD. I tried for an hour to put her down for her morning nap and she fell asleep for a few minutes and then woke up by her arm reflexes and then was wide awake! I'll see how she does for her next nap and might rethink weaning her off right away since it looks like she might not be ready yet... So far no magic sleepsuit, means no napping!
