What is the deal with DS?

Lately, while my mom is here I've noticed, DS will only eat if he's holding my hand. So, often he's holding my hand and I'm trying to sloppily shovel food in my own mouth or I'm holding DD because she's screaming and watching my food turn to ice and he's still holding my hand. What gives?

No, he likes her actually. In fact, he's taken to the name she wants to be called and still refuses to call MIL any sort of name (much to her dismay). He's here eating apples right now holding my hand. It just recently popped up and it's odd.
