Can I ask you a quick question about DS? He's 4 months and just started amoxicillin for an ear infection. It seems to be giving him diarrhea. I EP so he's only on BM. Is there anything I can do to make sure he doesn't get dehydrated?

How much poop are we talking? 5 poops a day? 10 poops a day?
Are you sure it is Amoxicillin (pink stuff) and not Augmentin (Amoxicillin plus Clavulanic acid = white stuff)???

At 4 months you can offer one bottle of water a day if needed. Though breast milk is usually the best to prevent dehydration.
You can also try OTC probiotics like Culturelle for kids.

Just checked the bottle. It's Amoxicillin (pink stuff). He's had 5 or 6 poops today but they have all soaked into the diaper. His mood is fine but his eating has been off since he's been sick (only 4 six oz. bottles vs. 5 or 6). Am I worrying for nothing?

As long as he's getting at least 24 ounces of breastmilk per 24 hours he'll likely be fine. You can offer Pedialyte or an extra bottle of water. He might prefer that if he's really congested?
Can you tell how many times he's peed? Might be hard to tell with the diarrhea. But I'd like to see at least 5 wet diapers in a 24 hour period.
Sounds like he'll be OK
Hope he feels better soon!
