This. DH is so excited about it. I, on the other hand, want to gag.

  • Cabbage and sausage. I like it but I also like pork and sauerkraut, so I'd be lucky either way!
  • My mother used to chase us down as kids to make sure we had at least one bite of pork and sauerkraut on New Year's Day.  I have been thinking about it and salivating for days! I can't wait! I'm being lazy and haven't got my croc-pot going yet, but I think I've decided to eat all my mother's tonight and have ours ready for all day feasting tomorrow.

  • We do pork & sauerkraut, too... I love it but DH & SS won't touch it, so this year we're having sausage... I figure pork is pork, right?? lol.

Either way, I hope you all have a lucky New Year!

  • We eat corned beef, cabbage, and black eyed peas.  Then with each dong of the midnight clock we eat a grape (12 total)...so definitely trying all these this year since with LO coming...I'm eager for some good luck.

  • We always had black eyed peas, cabbage and hog jowl.

Life got much better once I got old enough to figure out I could just tell my dad "no" when he tried to make me eat them... yuck. It makes the house smell soooo bad.

  • Growing up in Ohio, we always had pork and sour kraut. And I always dreaded to sour kraut so my dad started making sour kraut balls which 'hide' the sour kraut in sausage and cream cheese and are breaded and deep fried...MMM! Now I live in NC and my DH insists that we eat collard greens and black eyed peas...ick :(
