Baby Jogger - City Select for Twins!?

Hi ladies!

I'm pregnant with twins.  Anyone purchased the City Select for twins?  I have seen it in person and really like the idea that the tires are still big enough for walking on trails and things, but that it's narrower than a side by side double and seems easier to fold up and get into the car.  I know that you have to take the 2nd seat off to fold it, but the seat pops off in a flash.  I also do realize the additional costs of the 2 car seat adapters and 2nd seat and am fine with that.....

Wondering if anyone can chime in here?  If this is the way I'm going to go, I would like to jump on some end of year sales on the 2010 models!!!

Thanks for any advice, I appreciate it!

  • I have it and love it. I haven't had to deal with taking off the second seat yet, as I still use my car seats, but I can't imagine that would be a big deal.

  • I just bought a City Select this week so I can't really give a good review yet. But I know you can fold it with both seats on, so long as they both face forward. It's sitting in my living room, folded with both seats : )
  • i have had it since last January and use it as my every day stroller.

It would not be good on trails... it's NOT an all-terrain stroller - the front wheels are not large enough - so if you really want an all terrain this isn't it... but it's a GREAT stroller and worth the money b/c you can do so much with it.

i don't care at all about having to take the 2nd seat off to fold- it's sooo fast and easy to do both, and i actually take both seats off a lot to clean them out after a shopping trip where they have been snacking on stuff that gets in the seat - it's awesome to just pop the seats off, turn upside down and give a wack- and they are cleaned out :) You can't do that with most strollers where the seats are fixed.

I absolutly love this stroller.... if you want an all-terrain, too, you could easily get one on CL for a great price, as double all-terrains are always for sale on CL... but you will likely never find a Select on CL b/c they are still so new (came out last January).  They  might not have a new model coming out for 2011 since it was brand new in 2010, so there might not be sales?

it's a fantastic tandem b/c it's in the footprint of a single - so much easier to get around when inside at the doc office, The Loft, etc :)

  • I bought the stroller about a month ago and LOVE it!  I also have a toddler, so its great to stick my older DD in a seat and one twin in the car seat adapter, and then we just stick the other twin in a shopping cart.  We got the stroller because of how versatile it is because my older DD refuses to sit in shopping carts.  Plus I can use it with both car seats when I go out with just the twins.  It's super easy to snap the car seat adapters on and off and same with the seats.  I am still just using the car seat adapters.  It's so easy to steer and I have no problem getting around the mall and in stores.  The only down side is that it doesn't have a cup holder, but I just ordered two online and hopefully one will fit.  In the end with the stroller, extra seat kit, and 2 car seat adapters it cost us $800.  It was so worth it though!
  • I think it's on sale for 20% off at diapers.com.

We've been using ours since the twins came home.  I love it.  We have no problem maneuvering it when we're shopping.  We haven't used the seats yet, the boys are still in their car seats.  I love that this is a stroller that we will keep until they are too big for it.

  • Thanks ladies!  I pulled the trigger and ordered it from Amazon, they have the best price by far right now and free shipping with the Amazon Mom account. I think we'll love it too, but so reassuring to hear all the commentary.

I'm going to order a cup holder, seat, and 2 adapters later on since those weren't a huge discount right now and we have time.....

Thanks for all the quick advice!  I totally appreciate it!!! First big baby purchase!!!! AHHHH!!
