good diapers for belly sleepers

Before I get completely blasted for allowing my DD to sleep on her belly I have tried for months to get her to stop sleeping that way. I have never put her on her belly to sleep. When she started doing this I would wait for her to fall asleep then go in and switch her to lay on her back, before I was even out of the room she was back on her tummy. This continued for 2 weeks. I tried, really I did.......

Here is my problem. Every morning and after most naps she has wet through her diaper and onto her clothes and bed sheets. Any good diaper recommendations to keep this from happening????

Re: good diapers for belly sleepers

  • No flames here...DD has always slept on her belly. Try going up a size in diapers. DD would leak when she wore size 2's, so I put her in size 3's. Problem solved.

  • every since landon started rolling he's slept on his belly-- no flames from me! if that's how he'll sleep i will let it happen (i put him down on his back but whatever happens after that is what it is) :)

we use our same diapers (although i have thought about getting some overnights for him), but we roll down the top a little before fastening the tabs and it seems to help them fit better and not have that gap between his belly and the diaper, thus preventing leaks.  worth a try! looking forward to reading suggestions for overnight diapers!

  • No flames from me either!! DS did the same thing for a bit then we just let it be. We use luvs diapers and went up a size. It seems thought he was still wetting alittle bit overnight so we bought some huggies overnights and they work with no leaks. You could even try double diapering which I have donw also when we are out of the huggies!!! Good luck
  • We use Huggies overnights.  She was leaking through the front of her PJs every night, once we started with the overnights we had no issues.

  • We use Huggies Snug & Dry. They haven't leaked at night at all but we do get up the back poop sometimes during the day.  I haven't looking into nightime ones yet.  As for the LO sleeping on tummy I wouldn't worry.  Once they learn to roll over it seems like all they want to do is sleep on their tummies.  Everywhere I have read & everyone I have talk to says once they can hold up their heads tummy sleeping is fine. :-)
