3rd Trimester

omg the pain in my thighs!!

Is this normal? When I was induced with ds I was 35 weeks, so I'm officially further along that I have ever been. yay for that goal, but WTF is up with this pain?

I can barely move, my inner thighs and butt and hips freakin hurt like hell.

I dont feel like he's lower or dropped.

aaaahhh. 5 more weeks??  I am so thankfl to have an inside baby still but wow, this is going to be rough....

Re: omg the pain in my thighs!!

  • I had ds at 34 weeks and then when I was pregnant with dd, I had a super hard time after that point with her. I was miserable and I felt like she was just going to fall out. I had the pain in my thighs, hips and hoo ha! The doc kept saying it was because I had never been that pregnant before and that she was bigger than my son was and that my body was not used to the weight down there.

She recommended the support belt that goes between your breasts. I have not seen it in stores... I needed a prescription for this one and had to get it at a medical supply place.

The only way I got relief was to lay on my side with 2 gigantic pillows between my legs. It seemed to keep my hips open and that was the only way I was in no pain at all.

Hope it stops soon... I have a name for it. I called it bowling ball crotch.

  • Congratulations on 35/35!!

I remember this feeling with Emma. I'm starting to have it now with this baby. I have BH when I'm sitting down and when I get up to walk my butt, hips, inner thighs and crotch are so freaking sore. Just a lil while longer....

  • My last baby was born at 39 weeks and I don't remember this pain with him at all.

I literally wake up crying in the middle of the night. I should have gotten myself a million more pillows but I'm so close to the end now I'm trying to just hang in there. I have a delightful pregnancy waddle when I walk LOL.

    Congrats on 35/35!!!!!!

  • OMG I have the same problem.  It's just my inner right thigh though... it started hurting about a month ago and has just gotten worse and worse.  It's becoming increasingly difficult to walk especially when I wake up to go to the bathroom at night, that's when it hurts the most.  I figured it was just the extra weight and my body wasn't used to lugging it around but it realllly sucks.

  • I had my daughter at 42 weeks and I don't remember the hip and inner thigh pain like this.  No advice, but I'm right there with you.
"Hello, babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. At the outside, babies, you've got about a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies. God damn it, you've got to be kind." - Kurt Vonnegut

This pain you are describing sounds like sciatic nerve pain to me. I have both and they are two separate issues for me and two different kinds of pain.

  • I started having this a few days ago. I never had it with my first two kids so it caught me off guard. I could have done without it though.

  • I started having these pains about a week ago and spoke with my dr about them at my appt this week.  Blame it on the relaxin hormone getting things all stretched out and relaxed down there.  I bought a maternity support belt that is worn a bit below your belly...around hips and lower back and my pain is 100x better.  I found one at BRU for $18.
