Per this thread, we're hoping to condense a lot of the "gawker" threads into one! We thought this would make them more fun to browse and the board an easier read. We'll start a new thread every day to keep the list fresh.
Anyone is welcome to add to the post--local hospital names, the awful name you over heard at the park, Facebook horrors, and anything else that might give us a good chuckle! Feel free to comment, too.
Re: Post your facebook, hospital & other name horrors here
My cousin just named her daughter Nakia.
The local paper this week included a 3-year old boy named XXAXX. The paper was careful to clarify that the all-caps was officially part of the spelling and it's pronounced Zax.
There was also a birth announcement for a Bradley Cooper (first name, middle name). A girl.
Not a horror story but unusual -- DH's cousin had her baby last night and they still don't have a name. I thought they were just keeping it a secret but they really haven't decided. The baby was only a couple days early and they learned the gender at 20 weeks.
LOL.
a childhood friend on facebook is marrying a guy named...
Kevlyn.
Bradley Cooper is awful for a girl. Not only is the first name a BOY name, but the middle name is an occupation name (which throughout history have been used for BOYS).
This name combo is not even that great for a BOY either, since it's the name of a goofy movie star that can't even act. My guess is that the father of this baby is not in the picture, and the mom just thought Bradley Cooper is hot.
Lots of good ones so far today, ladies. Keep it up!
My ex had a baby and her name *was* Andreanna. A smoosh name between Andrew and Keana.
A bit of facebook stalking last night taught me that for some reason, my ex is no longer the father so the mom renamed her Aailiyah. The kid isn't even 6 months old. WTF drama.
Jess & Adam, married 2009, precious Audrey born in 2011. BFP 1/6/13, 6-wk MMC discovered at 9 wks 2/11/13. D&C 2/18/13, second D&C 4/23/13 for retained placenta.
BFP 8/24/13!! EDD 5/1/14, delivered healthy and sweet Zoey Leanne on 5/5/14 by repeat c-section.
My ex-BF sister is naming her little girl Ayvah Gayce.... Another girl I know named her daughter Alexy.... Why not Alex? or Alexa? or Lexie? Lexus even? Nope, gotta smoosh them together and make Alexy.
Gayce? Really? That's awful.
Bad name spelling on a check at work: Kori. I'm assuming it was a girl, but as I didn't take the check myself, I don't really know.
Does Gayce rhyme with Grace? My first thought when I saw it was John Wayne Gacy....
Alexy is weird since they could have named her any Alex- name and used that for a nn...
I dunno if this counts since I saw it on Maury, but one of the babies who was getting paternity testing was Sammy Davis Jr. The Third.
Yes it is pronounced just like Grace. People are crazy.
Found on the local hospital board, enjoy!

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Picabo_Street Remember this skier from the Olympics in 94? I think her parents were hippies who wanted to wait til she was old enough to choose her own name, but ended up having to pick something so they could enroll her in school or something.
It's pronounced Grace, but doesn't even have an 'r' in it? Dummmbbb.
From our local birth announcements: Qwynne (it was a mn, but still...ew)
OMG thought that said "Parsleigh" like Parsley. My head exploded.
See this is why people who don't have a lick of actual creativity should not invent. They could have simply called her Garnet.
Krista-fer could have also been avoided by naming her Krista Fern for a first and middle or Krista Fernanda. Then used Krista Fer as a nick name where it belonged.

Saw this name today on a birthday reserved table at Peter Piper Pizza.
Zakraine
I know a girl who has a son by that name, but it is foreign and pronounced Ah-dean... I felt bad because I always thought it was such a stupid way to spell it, until I heard it and the explanation!
