Going on a babymoon? Where to?

My DH thinks I'm crazy when I suggest a babymoon. I'm a traveler by nature and I would love to get one more last trip in.

I gravitate towards places that are warm and near the ocean, but with everything I've read, the sun won't be my friend during pregnancy.

Where are you guys thinking about going??

We had planned to go back to Greece in May (we have a house on the coast) so that DH's family could finally meet DS but, now we're not sure. I'm still game to go even if just for a week-10 days but, it depends what happens with our house hunt and when we find a place and are able to close.

We'll probably only be visiting DH's family in Virginia (we live in Kentucky). Finances won't allow much else. (Especially when planning to pay for baby). I'd love to though! I like traveling!

We are going to Vegas in 10 days... I don't think that will count as a baby moon though will it? LOL!

My husband and I traveled overseas for 4 months straight earlier this year (some very convenient timing of the end of his graduate degree, a career change for me and a move to a new city), so another trip is definitely not in the budget before baby is born.

But, if we could we would go back to Costa Rica for a "babymoon." We were there a few years ago, and it's the perfect blend of beach and nature/rainforest-based activities like hiking, kayaking etc. You can be as strenuous or as relaxed as you want based on how you're feeling, and get a great mix of culture, nature and resort.

Wherever you end up choosing, happy & safe travels to you both!

My little brother is graduating high school in June, so we'll be traveling to Ohio for that. It will most likely be my last trip before baby, so that's our big "babymoon". DH and I may try to get away for a night or something while we're there, just the two of us. When I was pregnant with DD we went to our favorite B&B about two weeks before she was born, and it was one of the best times we've ever had. We laid around, took naps whenever we wanted and laughed the whole time. It was great!

I'm hoping we'll make it to London at some point to visit my college roommate who just had a baby in September. Other than that, maybe a couple small weekend trips to enjoy the time we have together before the baby's born.

We're going back to where I'm from in California in May for my cousin's wedding. We'll spend a day in San Francisco and a day near Half Moon Bay by ourselves so DH can get in some touristy fun and I can show him around more.

We were thinking about going to DC in June to visit DH's brothers, but now I'm thinking twice. It wouldn't be a relaxing vacation - I've never been there and I want to see the sights - so it would be quite a bit of walking in the heat.

We could go in April, but both DH's little brother and his wife work full time and go to night school, so we wouldn't be able to see them much at all.

Also, my in-laws were talking about going on a family vacation sometime in mid-to-late July! Ummm...I'm going to be going to weekly OB appointments by then, and I don't really feel like traveling 1000+ miles away from our home/hospital with 2-4 weeks left until my due date! Tongue Tied

We are going to Denver in May for one of my best friend's wedding...I am pretty nervous about the bridesmaid dress fitting though! We are also thinking about taking a cruise in June to Canada and Alaska... but not for sure. It makes me a little nervous to be on a boat in the middle of nowhere when i'm 7 months pg.

My sister is getting married in early June, so looks like I'll be heading to TN for our "babymoon." I also want to get as much full-time pay as possible in August, so I'm saving up vacation days.

We're thinking of staying in a nice hotel in Kansas City and hitting up some great restaurants. Nothing huge, but we just went to Hawaii in March 2010, so we don't really feel like it's time for another big, expensive trip.

We took an amazing trip to Maui in October, just the two of us. We are planning to take DH to Disneyland in March (over my Spring Break) to celebrate his upcoming 5th bday. I think it'll be a good time to go... I should be feeling good, and not too big yet.

We just started talking about it. We went to an all inclusive in Puerta Vallerta last May. There is so much to say for lots of rest, enjoying each other's company, staying on the beach, and eating whenever you want. It was so relaxing. Course can't enjoy the endless alcohol, but it would still be an amazing trip. I think Mexico and Hawaii are generally always pretty sunny.

I'm going to Boston in early June for a conference. We're now contemplating having DH come with (and then stay a few extra days) because the trip will be 3/4 paid for by a grant.

If I hadn't gotten pregnant we were going to go to Alaska - but by the time it's tourist season there I will be too pregnant to enjoy it, so we'll put that off a year. I think we'll take a year off from a big trip and do a road trip to New Mexico or something. We'll be moving to Colorado in less than 2 months so it won't be far and I love the southwestern landscape.

Husband and I love to travel and do at least a few times a year. We just started talking about a babymoon but don't really know when, as far as the pregnancy, is a good time to go. I'd like to go to Hawaii since we still haven't been out there and we already live in California so it's the next best thing. We were planning on visiting family in Japan but aren't sure that's gonna happen.
