I brought dd to work with me today

Why is it that this chld will concentrate on one thing forever at home, but once she is in my office she has the attention span of gnat?  It doesn't help that she's a social butterfly and is flitting from desk to desk (people she doesn't know at all mind you) dropping off pictures she's drawn for them.
