By this time last pregnancy I was sitting in the nursery all dreamy eyed and waiting. This time, totally different. Instead of getting the nursery ready we are switching DS's room, and giving him a completely new big boy room. This weekend is operation switch rooms- DS is styaing with grandma for the weekend. We might get the crib set up again while were at it, but I am not all that worried about it. He's got months before he will sleep in it.
I feel bad that I am not all in to the nursery this time... I will get there, once DS's room is done.... I hope.
Re: nursery?? let's redo the big brother's room instead
I feel the same way!
We are turning the guest room into a new room for DD. It is much larger than her current room, so she is "moving up." However, she is keeping her furniture and things, so we are basically re-doing two rooms. (I feel like we're playing ring around the rosey with bedrooms!) DH was off this week, so we have spent all week cleaning out closets and rooms to make the switch. He painted DD's big girl room today, and we're hoping to get the furniture moved tomorrow or Saturday. I will feel much better once I get her settled in.
We will probably paint the nursery (DD's current room) in the next couple of weeks while we wait for her furniture to come in.
Of course, with DD#1, I was done with everything at this point...so now I am starting to feel stressed!
We decided that the two bedrooms in our apartment should be switched to accommodate all of the toys DS got for Christmas, as well as DS#2 eventually sharing a room with DS#1 when he starts sleeping through the night. We're kind of doing a combination of the two, though when I think of nursery, it's more along the lines of how the nursery in Peter Pan is - the young kids sleep in the play room.
We switched the beds last night and I'm in the process of organizing the rest. The master bedroom is twice the size of the second bedroom, and DS has sooooo much stuff, so I'm excited to give him a bigger space to play... even if it means our bed literally takes up more than half the bedroom we're in now, I think it's cozy and that he'll put the larger space to better use.

Things to avoid during pregnancy: Eye contact with cats. Cats will suck the burgeoning life right out of you, using their infamous feline mind-powers. Avert your eyes, and move along.
FACT: 1 in 10 people are said to be a carrier of Listeria. Therefore you should avoid all shopping malls, grocery stores and busy street corners for the duration of your pregnancy. Or microwave anyone you contact until steaming, just to be safe.
we are actually moving DS into the smaller room, but it has a better layout and he will still have enough room to play- we hope. We have to put the baby in the bigger room because we still need to have somewhere for guests to sleep. My mom comes to visit about once a month and when DH's parents/ siblings come to visit it is for weeks at a time (they will be here for the entire last 1/2 of Feb and then will be back for 7 weeks at the beginning of May to watch LO when I go back to work for a month before summer break.
Hopefully this all works out the way it has in our heads. If not, I just might have a nervous breakdown.
