Dr Appt w/LO

My yearly visit to the crotch machanic is quickly approaching, and I realize that I will have to take LO with me to my appointment.  Have any of you had to do this?  What do I do with her while we're there??  Any suggestions?  She's such a monster, I'm afraid she won't just sit in her stroller - maybe with food; but I'm nervous!

    i've taken Ethan and it's hard.  Even when dh brought Ethan to sophie's u/s appt it was difficult.  Brring a stroller and lots of treats

    Do you have a portable DVD player you can bring for her?  I had DH meet me at the doctor when I had to go in for mine, but I had the DVD player as a back up if he got stuck at work.

    I would call to make sure that you can.  My friend's GYN had a policy of no kids above 1 year in the room during exams.  They would reschedule you if you came in with a child.  (And charge you a missed appointment fee.)

    Strap her in the stroller, bring a toy that she likes (or food) and don't let her see it until the doctor comes in.  Then she'll hopefully be distracted long enough.

    My GYN is near DH's office.  He's come over and sat with the boys in the car while I ran in...and then gone back to the office.

    Thanks girls...I'll have to call & make sure they'll let me bring her.  DH works out of town & will be in GA;  my MIL would have watched her, but she is going back to work full time right before that (which she decided after I scheduled my appt) and my other sitter works that day of the week at her other job.  I had it all figured out to go alone & then everything changed, ugh!!

    I have taken her to regular PCP appts with me but not to the OB. I have to wait longer at the OB and the rooms are tiny so even in the stroller it would be a pain.. plus the whole stirrups thing.. and hanging out waiting in the room with no pants on..nope.. wouldn't wanna bring her.  but if i absolutley HAD to, I would bring the portable DVD player.

    I bring dd with me to all my appts.  But I haven't been to the obgyn in a long time (I go at the end of jan though and will have her with me).  DH and I work seperate days, so oh well.

    The most recent appt to the dentist she did horrible with.  But all the others she was fine.  It was with the sitting up and laying down....she would calm down just in time for me to have to sit up and spit and then she would freak out all over again.  But I think it also was as soon as the dental hygenist put on her face mask.

    I just bring her in the umbrella stroller bc it is smallest and bring lots of snacks and toys.  We don't have a portable dvd player, so she is stuck with a leapfrog book.  If I am really desperate I will lock my phone and give her that to play with.
