hemorrhoid advise please...(possible tmi)

I am for the first time in the pregnancy am dealing with a hemorrhoid. I've had loose stools all day so its not helping. My question is what did you guys do to help? Did you get fairly quick relief? thanks for taking the time to help me out.

  • I haven't had to use them, but there are soothing wipes that are supposed to help and some hemorrhoid ointment as well...good luck, I know they are a real pain in the butt :)

  • OMG I had them bad...and I mean them..at one time. I still have one that isn't such a bother. I have to be honest, be happy you have loose stool because if you are constipated it makes it so much worse. (oh the things we share on the bump)

I used prep H, but use the original ointment; NOT the cooling gel. The cooling gel felt better but did nothing to make them go away. The original ointment actually kind of burned when you put it on...but it really helped. I only have to apply it like 4 times.

  • I just got my first one on Tuesday and I did my first Prep H treatment tonight (the max pain relief cream). I agree with PP that it burned a little when I put it on, which kind of startled me, so I'm glad to hear that someone else experienced it.

I've also been using baby wipes every time I go to the bathroom instead of toilet paper, and I recommend you try that as well. It doesn't help them go away, but it's much gentler.

I'm hoping it clears up soon for us all!!

  • I took 3-4 small baths a day. I also use the moist hemorroid wipes..they have witch hazel and vitamin E. Mine took about 10 painful days to go away. It's still there but it's not painful. Mine actually bled for about 5 days before it stopped being painful. I also haven't been constipated, my dr said they are easy to get from all the extra fluid and pressure from the baby.

I hope your feeling better soon.
