Trying to Get Pregnant

XP: NTTGP: Weird nipple question

First of all, I love the interwebs. I would never ask anyone IRL about my nipples.

I've always had flat nipples.( It was a really challenge for BFing, Ryan never latched and I pumped for 7 weeks.)

My right nipple has been hard a lot over the past couple of days. What would make this happen? Is it nothing to worry about?

I had surgery on my right breast in March 2007. I had a lumpectomy, and thank God the tumor was benign. The scar runs across my areola.

Should I wait it out and just chalk it up to my boob being weird? Just bring it up at my pap appointment in February?

Re: XP: NTTGP: Weird nipple question

  • I am taking a wild stab in the dark, so please do not place much stock in my answer....but my guess would be scar tissue. I would place a call to my doctor and ask what he or she thinks I should do.

  • If it was me, I would call my doctor's office and talk to the nurse and see what they think. I am a pretty big fan of my boobs, so I would be apprehensive about anything like that.

  • If it concerns you, then you might consider calling the doctor. I only say that because of your history. It probably is just something weird that will work itself out, but if you are going to worry about it, then just see the doctor so he can check it out and help you ease your mind.

  • I'm late to this party but wanted to contribute if you happen to read this. My sister just experienced the same thing and it was actually a clogged milk duct. She hadn't breastfed in over 6 years either!!! Anyway, there are several things it could be and if I were you I would talk to my DR about it soon. GL Smile
