Will the hospital need my SS Card?

in 3rd Trimester

I think I may have lost my SS card, I cannot find it in any of the places I would normally put it. Will the hospital need a copy for the birth certificate or anything?

Either way I should get a new one ordered. But I just wanted to know if I will need it when I have the baby.

    I asked my friend this who just had her baby, and she said they do not. Thank goodness bc I need a new one as well.

    Probably not, at least mine didn't. Actually they didn't even ask me to my insurance card lol.

    The last time I needed the actual card was when we re-financed our house back in September. I had to make a photo copy of it along with mine and DHs Drivers Licenses. Gosh I hope I didn't leave it on the photo copier at work.... Someone would have returned it to me at work I would think. Now I'm paranoid.

    Anyways. Glad to know I wont need it for the birth. Whew!

    I didn't need mine. I preregistered also...that way any concerns they had would be answered ahead of time. I think most hospitals allow that now.
