NYE and pink eye!!

So the house we're supposed to hang out at for NYE has a child w/ pink eye. The mom is washing toys, etc- but we're just not sure what to do. We have an 8-month old and 3.5 yo. We've planned this for months and they have a whole jam dinner planned. What would you do?

    As long as the kid has been on antibiotics for 24 hrs I would still go. They are not contagious after 24 hrs.

    A friend who's a nurse said the bacteria can live on sufaces 2-7 days. Maybe I'll just try to reach pedi tomorrow

    We have all had a cold that seemed to included conjuctivitis, seems to be part of the cold/virus not independent.  If it is pink eye and isn't part of a cold then I would think twice about going.

    This would only be true if it was bacterial....We've had the viral version make its rounds 2x this season, and there's nothing to be done other than wait it out, and maybe an anti-itch drop.

    That said, I'm not too paranoid....maybe go for dinner and leave shortly after?  What is the host's thoughts?
