My DS is now 5 1/2 months and I'm wanting to really start using some back carries. My problem is that he's a string bean (10th percentile for weight) and has a major deficiency in the bum department even with cloth diapers. Whenever I've tried getting him on my back and try to tuck the wrap under his bum it doesn't work so well. When I pull the rails tight the wrap just slides out form under his bum and is hard to get a good seat for him.
Any suggestions for how to fix this or do I just need practice or a bigger baby?
Thanks!
Re: Help for back carries with skinny baby
You might be over tightening the bottom rail. I usually just tighten the top 2/3rds of the wrap and leave the bottom rail as it is, and that helps me keep the pocket.
What part of TX are you in?
There is an AP meeting next thursday that I'm going to (as well as the other ladies from the wrapping group) you should come and we'll help you get things figured out.
