DH bought me a 'purse' for Christmas

DH hates my purse, he thinks it looks like a black plasic bag.  So he bought me this 'purse' for Christmas.  He is really bummed I didn't get excited when I opened it.  I do NOT like it.  He said it is my style.  I don't know about that.  I mean, for an everyday purse, it is ugly, right?  The picture looks more femanine than the actual shell bag.  Would you suck it up since DH is so proud of himself?  Or send it back and risk never getting a gift again.

    it's not my style. I am not outdoorsy at all.  i would send it back.  i am going to return a VB purse that dh is so proud of himself for picking out and buying. (i told him i liked the style and color so he didn't do it all on his own). there is no point in keeping something you don't like and won't use

    though i think that bag would be perfect with a horse riding outfit, boots, blazer, turtleneck and those cute helmets?! lol

    DH's just don't get style. tough call on what to do with it.

    I'd send it back. Otherwise it's just going to sit on a shelf in your closet if it's not something your style, right?

    If it makes you feel better, my DH was very proud of and wanted to see me try on right away the XS sweater he bought me for Xmas--I'm 5'10" it ended a couple of inches above my wrists. He was shocked it didn't fit, "the model online looked your height". DHs really can't shop.

    I had my e-ring reset because I didn't really like the setting - plus it didn't really go with any wedding rings I tried on (this was my justification to DH)

    DH brings up that he had to buy me two e-rings (even though the wedding ring and e-ring bands came together)...but he really could care less. I felt horrible but if I can get rid of an e-ring setting....you can get rid of a purse!! Haha!

    The first time DH bought me a Coach purse, I didn't like the style so we went together and exchanged it for something else.  Can you explain to him that it's just not your favorite and you guys can shop together for a new one?

    I'm not a fan.. it's leather and canvas?  Not very feminine.. in most cases, I don't think men should be buying a purse for a woman unless they have very specific direction on what to buy.  Too bad if he doesn't like your purse.. I'm sure there are clothes or whatever you aren't a huge fan of, of his, but I'm guessing you don't just go buy something that isn't his style..

    Can you "soften the blow" by saying something like.. it will show stains easily, or you want more pockets inside, or how you want a zippered purse.. like a feature you'd want diff instead of how the whole thing is ugly..

    I always feel bad for asking to return a gift that DH has given me, but I have done it.  I think that especially because it is a purse that he will want you to use daily and also if he spent a bit of money on it.

    Yes, it is exactly that color.  And it isn't even really a purse, it is a shell bag.  Like for bullets, but could be used as a purse.  I would love it if I was like a botanist collecting crap in the woods, but never as an everyday purse.  I guess he got the recommendation from one of his coworkers whos wife has the same purse and uses it daily.  DH thinks it is very durable and practical.  I will have to break it to him tonight, that he should please return it.
