Baby belly ?

So I feel that my belly is always hard when I am standing up... and was afraid I was having contractions but when I lay down or sit my belly isn't so hard. And I can feel her kicking and stuff.. any one else have a "harder" belly when standing up?

  • My belly seems this way too... probably because when I sit all my belly fat gathers and makes it feel squishy.

  • I usually get BH contractions as soon as I stand up. Plus, LO is breech and it's definitely harder when I am standing.

  • I tend to get this, too.  I kind of wondered if it had something to do with me engaging my lower abs when I stand, so baby tends to "ball up" toward the top of my uterus.

  • Maybe that is it... I think she is still breech/ transverse as well... hmmm. That would make sense. I was standing in the shower for 20 minutes and the whole time my belly was hard... so I don't think it was a contraction/or BH.

    Thanks ladies for your insights!

  • I am this way.  My stomach is super hard while I am standing and walking around.  When I am laying down on my back or side it seems a little squishy.

  • Oh definitely. Belly is totally hard when I'm standing, bouncier/squishier when sitting/laying down. Definitely a chub thing for me though because I'm tall, so when I stand, its all baby/uterus, but sit and it gets squished and the fat comes back:(

  • Yes, always. I can't stand it. Rock hard while walking around ans standing. Much more relaxed while laying down on my side.
