What are the New Years Day wives tales you've heard?? The ones I've heard are not to wash clothes on that day, have at least 1 tablespoon og black eyed peas, and DH said something about putting a penny in with the peas (yuck!)... Am I missing any??

    It is a German tradition.  That is what we will be doing!

    Black eyed peas is a Southern thing.  My brother always did pork and sauerkraut, but when he moved to OKC, OK he found out they do black eyed peas down there. I have trouble finding a good pork roast in Cali too!

    I've heard that you're supposed to eat 12 grapes. Each sweet one you get  will be a sweet month and each sour one will be a sour month.
