My pail liner smells mildewy.

Just one of them.  I don't see any mold/mildew on it, it looks clean, I think we went 3 days between washing on this one.  Normally I just toss the liner in the wash with the diaps and we're good.  But, when it came out, it still stunk so I washed the liner again with vinegar.  Still stinky.  Diaps smell fine.

Three years of CDing and I've never had this issue.  Maybe it wasn't all the way dry before it went back in the pail last time?  I don't know ... but does anyone have any suggestions?

Re: My pail liner smells mildewy.

  • Maybe it was still damp like you said.

I've noticed faint lingering funky odors on my pail liners if I don't turn them inside-out before washing (shiny side out). Then turn them back before drying in the dryer if I'm not line drying.

  • I'm pretty sure I flipped it to wash but I can't remember anything anymore, so it's possible I didn't.  Crap.  I'm going to re-wash inside out and then line dry tomorrow.  It's supposed to be 52 & sunny so maybe that will help.  It's been machine dried for at least a month because of the precipitation.
