Listerine

Ok...I know this is kind of a dumb question...but are you ladies still using Listerine? I typically use it 2x's day, but DH was asking me if I should still use it since it has alcohol in it.

When I went in for my pregnancy test, I asked the PA (who was super rude and condescending) and she told me "I don't know, why don't you google it." Obviously I've done that, but there's conflicting opinions.

 What do you girls think??

    If your PA told you to google it - please request that you never see that PA again. Seriously.

    I think you're fine as long as your not swallowing it. I mean, even toothpaste has some alcohol content I think, but it's not like your actually ingesting large amounts, kwim?

    Yeah that's what I figured. I might just try to find a nonalcoholic mouthwash just to be safe. 

     But yeah! I will never ever see her again. She was super rude to me, she was questioning me about how I knew I was pregnant (took a bunch of tests and they all were positive...duh!) and she made me feel like I was making the pregnancy up like I was crazy or something. When the nurse gave her the results, she was staring at the sheet for like 5 minutes in silence and then she said, "well..the test came back positive....so congratulations, I guess." I went to the doc all happy and excited and left really sad/pissed off. Never again!

    I agree with this 100%. Your PA should not be telling you to google something.

    The thought never crossed my mind - I use the Target brand twice a day. You're not drinking it...I'm sure it's fine.

    Pregnant women need to be more diligent than ever with their dental care because progesterone increases the growth rate of the bacteria that cause gingivitis. So definitely use a mouthwash and floss! I'm still using Listerine since I think it's the best, but some dentists do recommend using a non-alcoholic brand.

    Also, this lady sounds like a total ***. Can you replace her?

    considering the occasional glass of wine is totally fine (and some studies even say recommended!) while pregnant, I would think swishing and spitting listerine would be just fine.
